2 weeks since the knights last outing, having to postpone last weeks game to this week. We won’t mention covers-gate or ironic forecasted thunderstorms!

Church’s chief weather reporter Burs had predicted at precisely 6.15pm Thunderstorms! Big Mike with the accompanying rain dance, there was a mention of hot and ginger, not sure of the context.

Will Ross took the first over, skipper Westy started him at the opposite end as to save the ball heading for Manchester via common lane, the end.

Archie had the second over and bowled sharply again, a couple of drop catches and some lucky edges but he persevered and got a nice snick behind taken well by young James Peasley.

Hoggie came into the fray and bowled a lovely spell taking 1 wicket, to his dismay yet again skip didn’t give him his final over, is he actually away next week or just sulking?

Westy after being hounded all week for “been in everyone’s fantasy team and not doing anything” gave himself a bowl, all I can say is what a fantastic pitch, if you only saw his first wicket you’d be thinking prime Brett Lee another fantastic take behind the stumps by James. We don’t need to talk about the wides or half trackers.

Doug and Jord finished the bowling off and wrote a similar story to last game, the batsmen struggled the get the runs flowing, both taking a pole each for equal measure and leaving Harpers with an under-par 135.

Big Mike maybe still a bit mift about no rain, smashed the ball about… 43 from 17 deliveries, 2 lost balls and the most nonchalant one-handed catch and his job was done.

Harvey was given a chance after last games “worst dismissal ever” and grafted to 26, batting nicely and steadily before jibbing one to cover- let’s not talk about the banging in the changing room and the helmet…

Doug once again knocked his way around with ease and anchored the innings with 39*. He was joined by an out-of-form Burs, who after totally underselling himself walking out, scored a cosy 24*… isn’t the saying class is permanent? Whilst Westy and Sam sat there with pad rash! Nevermind fantasy teams, there’s alway next week!

All in all a strong performance all round and a captains job made very easy. Up the Knights!
